Siper: Simulated Perceiver
Models and techniques for computationally emulating and automatically analysing the impact of individual differences in normal and defective vision on interfaces and visual designs. Simulates low-level human vision with Zernike Polynomials and entropic measures.

This research is central to my PhD in Human-Computer Interaction / Vision Science

keywords: human visual system modeling, perception, information visualisation, individual differences (physiology), embodiment

publications: PhD Thesis, AVI 2008 (spatial vision), VGV 2008 (visual acuity), ISVC 2006 (colour perception), CASCON 2006

THWONK: User Generated Social Structures
THWONK is a new approach to and research tool for creating online communities that allows participants to alter the rule sets of these systems. THWONK allows the public to design the rules of social networks such as email lists, a.k.a. User Generated Social Structures (UGSS). more...

keywords: computer-mediated communication, user generated
